Located approximately five nautical miles within the historical Dubai Creek, boaters will pass under the Al Maktoum Bridge, which has a height of 6.5m, but opens regularly for yachts with a greater height. The Floating Bridge is approximately 0.5km upstream of the Al Maktoum Bridge, and will be open to boating traffic at the following times (subject to change):

• Seven days a week: 10pm to 6am (except Friday morning, when it is open until 9am)

As a measure to alleviate the restricted opening times of the Floating Bridge, a dedicated pontoon has been allocated to Festival Marina boaters at the downstream Al Seef Marina to pre-position their boats either after 10pm or before 6am for use on the same day only (strictly subject to booking in advance). The new Al Seef Marina is just upstream of the British Embassy on the Bur Dubai side of the Creek and all Festival Marina boaters will have access to it.

Once boaters have passed the Floating Bridge they will then pass under Garhoud Bridge and Business Bay Crossing, with a maximum height clearance of 15m at highest astronomical tide.
